By optimizing the field-oriented control (FOC) parameters and increasing the peak output to 21kW in “Turbo” mode, this upgraded version has been clocked at a blistering 95–97 km/h (60 mph). At these speeds, many lightweight bikes feel “flighty” or nervous, but the Ultra Bee’s 37mm inverted forks and motorcycle-grade tires provide a planted feel. The bike tracks straight without the dreaded speed wobble often found in converted mountain bikes, giving the rider the confidence to keep the throttle pinned.
Factors That Kill Your Top End
It is important to remember that top speed on an electric bike is highly sensitive to external variables.
